Time for a street party! Save the date: 7 June 2015

Last year, Clarbeston Rd joined in The Big Lunch. The date for this year’s event is Sunday 7th June 2015.

The Big Lunch is run by the Eden Project and funded by the Big Lottery and, since starting in 2009, thousands of Big Lunches have taken place across Wales and the rest of the UK.

This June millions of people will come together for The Big Lunch, the UK’s annual get together for neighbours.  It’s a simple idea to get as many people as possible across the UK to come together in their shared spaces in a simple act of community, friendship and fun.

You’re invited by the all-Wales organiser Gwion Thorpe to hold one in your street or area and bring your local community together: “If everyone brings a dish or some decorations and activities, you have yourself a Big Lunch! ”

To find out more, to get a Big Lunch Pack or to register your interest, go to www.thebiglunch.com or call 0845 850 8181.

Ask the Cardiff North Candidates livetweet 3 March

The media’s spotlight is sure to be shone most brightly on Llandaff North and other parts of the Cardiff North Parliamentary constituency ahead of the May 2015 Westminster elections when we all (18+) have a chance to vote to have a say in choosing our next MP. There are few seats in the UK which are more marginal than ours. Jonathan Evans MP won the seat in the 2010 General Election with a majority of just 194. To see who’s contesting the seat this year, see @MyTongwynlais’s handy North Cardiff 2015 Guide.

Jack Davies, editor of  the Tongwynlais hyperlocal has organised a ‘live chat’ on Twitter to let members of this marginal electorate post questions for their candidates to answer. The tweetchat happens on Twitter between 9-10pm on Tuesday 3 March.

Apart from participating on Twitter itself, Jack says:”I’m hosting it at http://twubs.com/atcnc. You can log into this site with your twitter account so you only see relevant tweets, you can pause or slow down the stream and every tweet automatically includes the #atcnc hashtag. If you have any questions you really want to ask about issues that affect your area, could you send them to me in advance so I can put together a sort of agenda so we cover all the issues in one hour?”
