Every year, the residents of Cornelly Close come together for a fantastic summer street party as part of the Big Lunch. This year is no exception and Saturday 9 June is the date. Please note this is a party for residents, we’re sharing the news as it’s a fantastic example of local community building.

Andrea is rapidly establishing Coffee Rex, on the site of Lew’s much loved cafe, as a cafe which serves one of the best cups of coffee in Cardiff.

He used to run Gusto in Llandaff and it’s great to welcome him to Llandaff North now.

It’s great value. My favourite brunch there is a double espresso (£2 – delicious Trinci brand from Italy) and sausage baguette with brown sauce (£1.85)

It’s good that there’s a list of local organisations that have benefitted from a 1% dividend gifted by customers there at Llandaff North Co-op.

Shoppers with a membership card can log in online to have a say in where the future 1% of their spending goes locally.

It’s good to see the 2nd Llandaff Scouts on this list because they’ve worked so hard to raise funds. Testament to this is the list of supporters on the banner outside their scout hut.

Puddles on the path alongside the tennis courts in Hailey Park used to make it almost impassable whenever it rained. Work has been done on drainage there and it’s made a big difference as you can see in this photo.

So have the puddles moved?

Because whenever it rains now, it’s the path along the old canal route between the trees and the backs of Hazelhurst Road houses that floods with puddles.

Go figure.

The 31st annual Cardiff Railway Model Exhibition takes place on the weekend of October 20, 2017 in Ysgol Glantaf, Llandaff North. You can find full details on the poster and on their website.
